When my PlayStation developed the PS3 yellow light of death I was at my wits end. I was on the phone to Sony a lot quicker than a rat up a drain pipe but I soon started to rue my behavior.

You see, they were holding a gun to my brain (not literally of course) and were demanding $150 to repair it - it was looking like it was time to get the balaclava out and head down to the local savings & loan. In a voice that sounded like some deranged terrorist the support centre guy then threatened to keep hold of my games console for up to 8 weeks - all right, I'll shell out the ransom I was thinking - but truth hit when I noticed that I could not afford that type of hard cash - and Mel Gibson is hardly ever around when you need him! After politely refusing their kind offer (and slamming the cell phone off the wall a couple of times) I decided to look for another way to sort the dilemma out. And guess what? It turns out that repairing the PS3 yellow light error is really a lot less difficult than you may well think. Sure, you've got to open up the case and delve into the guts of the appliance but once you know what to do it becomes a fairly routine process .

However, I had never even seen the inside of my beloved gaming system and the thought of just diving in and tearing its guts out filled me with fear. Luckily, I found a new guidebook by a specialist repair guy called Rob Sheffield, that demonstrated the exact measures needed to fixing the issue. His downloadable e-book, which only costs the price of your typical PS3 game, came to the rescue and I was thrilled to start getting the problem fixed. A quick glance through the guide told me that I had made a excellent choice - despite the fact that I 'm a complete techno-phobe I could still make sense of his suggestions. After about half an hour or so of studying I was good to go. In the guide Rob told me how the repair would only take approximately one hour - but I have to say I didn't believe this. Turns out, though, that he was right - at least he would have been if I had read the instructions right. Turns out I made a small, but time consuming mistake, but, after watching the video - did I mention you get online video help as well - ok you do - I has the problem back under control .

Just like a proud daddy holding his newborn son I cradled the freshly restored PS3 for a few minutes before choosing to see if the operation had really been a success. It was showtime, as they say in Vegas. I pushed the power switch and - nothing - well no bang anyway! My PS3 just whirred, hummed and typically looked cool as it went about the business of starting up. Moments later - the truth is it seemed like an eternity - my PS3 was singing and dancing once again - and so was I - I had pulled of the accomplishment of the century - I was an electronics GOD! Ok, so you should be getting the idea by now that the repair worked.

Ok, so if a dork much like me can resolve the PS3 yellow light error - you sure as bejesus can. It may well seem as daunting as taking out a level 42 wizard on WOW but it is actually really quite simple - but as they say (practically) on tv - dont try this alone. If you watch what you are doing and you can follow some rudimentary instructions theres no explanation you cant save a load of dollars and repair your broken gaming console in a few minutes. Your PS3 may be a trusted family member but it sometimes needs a bit of tough love to bring it back on-side. Dont lavish your cash on it by permitting Sony to caress its internal workings - just go cheap and do it yourself. My old ma used to say - never ever believe in a something or other - I cant remember - however in any case, be sure to trust in this tale and get yourself over to his web site and get back to game playing in under one hour.
