There are some special telephone services that are used in prisons, so that prisoners can contact their families or friends while they are incarcerated. These services are special because they allow the prison authorities to log into the calls and monitor and check them in order to satisfy their security concerns. This also ensures that the communication made by the prisoners is safe. JPay and VConnect are among the various services.

It is possible to send emails to the prisoners through the services of JPay. You can also make correction fees and accounts payment from their website. They offer prepaid telephone services for the families of the inmates, whereby the prisoners can contact their families despite being transferred to a new institution in another locality. You can transfer money into the prisoner's account through the website. As soon as you deposit the money, it will be transferred within 24 hours and the family can also verify the transaction through the JPay website.

JPay also allows the family to send emails to the inmate, which is delivered within 24 hours. The prisoners can also send their correction payments, such as drug testing fees, court fines and so on, which can be made through the JPay website. The family can also participate in the forums run by JPay.

VConnect offers an Advance pay service. This prepaid service allows the family to receive calls from inmates with a prepaid service. Sometimes, prisoners are barred from making calls due to blocks from the local telephone company or because the Value Added Communications does not have a contract with the telephone company. If the monthly limit has been reached, the prisoners are not allowed to make calls through the local telephone company.

The families can be called by the inmate through the VConnect inmate service with a prepaid account which is paid by the family. The costs of the call plus applicable taxes are reduced from the prepaid account only after the family accepts the call. The family can pay VConnect through credit or debit cards and also make money orders, but the rate may vary according to location. Even if the fids are transferred, the inmate can still make calls to his family, provided the service is available.
