When you want to make a video, you may opt to do this using some free software or do it using the internet. In making a video, educating and entertaining your target audience should be your goal. Before you start, a few basics must be clear. You must have a clear cut purpose for your video. The article below gives the six basic steps for you to follow if you are to make a video production worth anyone's time.

Step one: You must know the basics, for instance people expect the video to be simple because they are used to TV production. Having complex work will most probably not go well with your audience especially if you intend to talk to the lay man. The point here is to keep your production as simple as possible. Complex video rarely meet their objective as the audience eventually get bored and loose interest. Also make your production shot; you may opt to have several ten minutes segments.

Once you have the above in mind, your second step will be planning. The shoot date, shoot location and the crew to make it all happen should be know well in advance. The budget of the entire production should be draw. Also, the subject matter of the work and practice run date are important points to have in your plan.

Step three: Step three is the pre production. This is the phase were practice and more practice is involved. Your subject matter expert must be dully instructed so he knows what the production is about and its intended objective. You as the producer should let your subject matter expert personality shine.

Remember if the subject matter's talent shines, your work shines too. Do not be too fixated on perfection, a few mistakes here and there is not so bad. After all no one is perfect and also this give your work some human face.

Once your practice is done, step number four is the production. During the production date, the subject matter expert must be briefed on the kit and be as comfortable as possible. Make sure your equipment is working a few hours before the shoot. It is also advisable to have the shoot in segments this helps your crew relax.

Step five: The fifth step is the post production. This is where your editor comes in. To make your editing runs as smooth as possible, it is advisable to have your editor present during the shoot. Having the editor around during the shoot improves the editing in the long run. Briefing with your team after each shoot and taking notes can be very helpful during editing.

Step six: The last and one of the most vital component in making a video is learner experience. Learners experience should be your main goal I mean, what use is it for a production to be perfect and the learner experience to be poor. As much as quality of your work should be of interest, learner experience must also be considered throughout your production. Your audience must be able to access you work with little or no hustle.
